Random Fact

So this was on Perez Hilton today....

"On Thursday, the US government will release a report that reveals that the late, great chef Julia Childs worked for the gov as a spy.
During World War II, 24,000 people served in an international spy ring managed by the Office of Strategic Services, an early version of the CIA created by President Franklin Roosevelt. They were soldiers, actors, historians, lawyers, athletes, professors, reporters. The recruits studied military plans, created propaganda, infiltrated enemy ranks and stirred resistance among foreign troops.
The government report will list the names of the 24,000 people who worked with the OSS and previously classified files relating to the program."
I love to read and retain useless facts and this is one I ran across years ago...I feel so informed, I already knew this!
Anytime she is mentioned in conversation I always work this story in, so there is a chance if you talk to me much I have already told you this! Who says useless facts are useless!?

So just saw this on Perez Hilton, I hope it comes to pass! I love Alice in Wonderland, the mad hatter is one of my favorite characters, and of course who doesn't love Johnny !?!?

Going Mad
from Celebrity gossip juicy celebrity rumors Hollywood gossip blog from Perez Hilton by Perez Hilton
Johnny Depp is known for playing quirky characters.
He's lent his skills to such notable parts as Edward Scissorhands, Willy Wonka, Capt. Jack Sparrow, Sweeney Todd, and a few others.
Well it seems Depp can add Mad Hatter to his resume pretty soon.
Tim Burton is working on remaking Lewis Carroll's classic fairy tale Alice in Wonderland into a 3-D film.
The flick would be released some time in 2010.
Plans are for the movie to be live action until Alice jumps down the rabbit hole and her adventure begins.
Alice will be played by Aussie actress Mia Wasikowska from HBO's In Treatment.
Neither Disney nor Depp have confirmed the reports, but we have a feeling he might do it.
Depp + Burton = BFF for life!

My weekend...

So starting Thursday and ending Sunday was an event known as Youth Fire Crusades in Branson. Our youth group has been attending for a long time. Here's a slight run down...On Thursday we had "Drama Night" at the church, it was pretty short and sweet. Friday was Silver Dollar City, our kids didn't get there until Friday night, but I went on Thursday, so on Friday I hung out with my BFF and his church. We left SDC around noon, because it was ridiculously HOT, but not before riding the Giant Swing twice...I heart it so much! That afternoon I went to the movies and saw Get Smart, it's a pretty good movie, the humors isn't that kind that just reaches out and grabs you, but there are subtle funny parts. That night we had a church service, it was really good! Actually all the services were really good! After church we went to The Track, where we decided to get pizza. They have this one they call the XXXL pizza and we decided it would be cool to get that, so we did!
Yea, it was huge! I'm not sure of the actual dimensions, but it was definitely the biggest pizza I have ever seen! When we ordered it the girl was like" Are you sure...it is like this big" stretching her arms out very wide as she says it. On Saturday we had a morning service then it was free time for the afternoon. I had to come back home to make an appearance at our family reunion. Then it was back for church again that night. Our kids left that night, but I stayed for the service Sunday morning, after I had lunch with a friend I hadn't seen in a long time, which ended up being lunch with her and another friend I hadn't seen in even longer, it was loverly! So in short that was my long weekend, a few details left out, but yea, that's pretty much it.
I tried to add pics, but it is giving me trouble, maybe I can get'em on here later!

Home...

So, once again I am home from a trip out of town. There are like 80 thousand details, but I won't tell you all of them, cause it would take forever. I pretty much just spent the week hanging out in West Plains with my bff Clay. Who is totally the greatest bff ever! There were a lot of movies watched and a lot of good food consumed.
We watched The Dark Knight on Saturday, it is definitely one of the greatest movies ever made! I will be buying it the moment it comes out on DVD. I am kinda contemplating buying all the original Batman movies.
I bought some really great jeans while I was gone, they are Silver's, which is my favorite brand. They are rapidly becoming my favorite pair of jeans! I bought some other stuff too, a really great dress, some shirts, a couple pairs of capris, and some AMAZING shoes! I should really stop spending money.

You are now free to move about the cabin...

There is a guy who comes in the library to use the computers and he always says "Can I get a terminal please". I always think of an airport terminal when he says it. I'm tempted to one day say "I'm sorry, we do not have clearance for take-off"...

I'm back...

Ok...so, I went out of town for 10 days. While I was gone blogging was pretty much the farthest thing from my mind, but all things are back in focus now. So here's what I was doing...

Saturday after work I headed to Springfield, where I met my best friend, Clay and we went to West Plains where he lives. I stayed there for the weekend, then on Monday we started the 4 hour journey to Burlison, TN to church camp! I love road trips!
So, we spent the week there along with about 300 other amazing people. Our church took about 13 youth kids, it was so great to see God working in their lives.

My job for the week was team leader, which means me and another guy were in charge of a team of 23 teenagers...AHHH!!!! No, it's really not that bad, I had a ton of fun. Not only are you leading, you are playing the games and getting hot and sweaty with these kids (I say kids, some were only a year younger than me!), but you are also building relationships. I was a little surprised that I was a team leader, since it was my first year to be a counselor at Sr. camp, I have been one at kids camp though. I met tons of cool people, maybe some of you are even reading this?

So once camp was over on Friday, we went back to West Plains where I stayed until Monday morning.

So now it's back to work and life as usual.

Here are some pics from camp!

The night before we left, a late night run to Wal-Mart.

Me and the Searcy girls...love them!!!

I know, I know...

I will update soon, very soon...possibly today!

Blond and Blas'e...

So I got my hair re-highlighted today, there is a lot of blond now. She used a darker red color, which I like very much. I kinda wish there was a little more of the red. I will post a picture when I have time to take one.
So next week is going to be oh so enjoyable! I am spending the week in TN at church camp with our youth kids. I'm so excited I can't wait. Camp is one of the greatest experiences ever. I'm so glad my parents sent me ever summer since I was like 10.
Some of the kids in this town really need to get jobs, or hobbies, or something. Every day since school let out the same group of teenagers has been hanging around the library bored out of their minds. They only get an hour on the computer at a time and once that is up they only get one again if we are not busy, which hardly ever happens. It seems like they could be doing something a little more productive. If you are going to hang out at the library ALL day at least pick up a book or something!
I added a counter to this page and it keeps going up, so I know someone is looking at this, leave a comment so I know who is following me!
All for now!

My weekend so far...

I think we will start with Friday, I pretty much did a whole lot of nothing for the first half or so of the day. At about 5 the UPS truck pulled in, which meant my new phone was here!!! I quickly changed clothes and headed to Alltel to change my service over to it. After that I decided I really needed some Chinese food, I needed to go to Wal-Mart after that, so I didn’t want to get it to go. So cut to me sitting in a Chinese restaurant…alone. Usually it doesn’t bother me to eat alone, I don’t do it that often, but when I do it’s fine. The waitress takes my drink order, then like halfway through my meal she comes by and says “where are your friends?” She usually sees me in there with the same people. I say “they had plans” to which she replies “Oh well, you should have brought your boyfriend”. That right there boys and girls was the clincher! I laughed and the rest of the conversation went like this -

Me - “well it would help if I had one”

Her - “whatever you’re so pretty, you don’t have a boyfriend, I can’t believe it”

Me - “well I don’t”

Her “it must be because you don’t want on then!”

Me - (with sad look on my face) “not completely”

A few minutes later I go up to pay for my food

Her “I still can’t believe you don’t have a boyfriend”

Me - ……..

Then she gets the attention of the other women working there, (at this point I should say she is about my age and the other woman is probably mid 30’s)

She says loudly to the other woman “can you believe she doesn’t have a boyfriend?”

Woman - “really!? Well she’s actually pretty smart” and she laughs

Then the first chick turns back to me, “I really love your make-up and you smell good”

Me - “thanks”

Her - “wait, I don’t swing that way, I don’t want you to think that is why I was going on about the boyfriend and giving you compliments”

This just makes the whole thing even more awkward…
I just laughed and said “yea, me either”

Then on to Wal-Mart, to buy things like make-up and food.

Saturday

Time for a wedding! One of my cousins got married today, I’m so happy for him! It was a really small ceremony, like maybe 50 people. It was very casual, the bride actually had on jeans. That was a first for me, but it worked for them, they are very laid back kind of people.
Below are some pics.

So I was going to add a few more, but the uploader thingy is messing up, maybe later.
