Overheard at the Library...

Women # 1 "I heard the pub burned down..."

Women #2 "Which one??"

Women #1 "The one in Golden"

Women #2 " OH! The one with all the good hamburgers and stuff!?!?"

Women # 1 "Well I guess, they had really good steak."

I wanted to say "Oh yea, that's the one, with the good burgers, that really narrows it down!"

The brary really brings out a lot of sarcasm in me...

FUNNY!

This is hilarious and I hope one day it happens at our library! Not even kidding...

My idea...

So I am toying with this idea I had last night...I have a lot of shirts, I mean A LOT. So I am thinking about seeing if I can go a whole year and wear a different shirt every day. Of course there would be rules and exceptions, for instance...
I have some library shirts that were graciously given to me by our library director. I would hate to not get the good out of them, so I would have to repeat those, although if I went anywhere else other than work on that day I could change and therefor be wearing a different one on that day.
Sunday would be an exception also, because I wear dresses on Sundays, so that would be out, sometimes I change in the afternoon, but not always, so I think this would be a 6 day a week project.
I haven't decided for sure if I want to do this or not, I tend to be somewhat of an overachiever, and I know that I will be aggravated with myself if I don't keep up with it. Although if I start I will probably finish it because the word "fail" tends to not be in my vocabulary...

At the Library...

It is 12:10 on Saturday, the library is open until 2 today, so far I have encountered the following...
A guy walked right past the DVD shelf to ask me where the DVDs are located
A cut little boy with red hair picking his nose in the middle of the children's section
A little girl running around pointing to her grandmother and saying "Dat's my mommit!" to random strangers
A mom with her son, after checking their books out the son ask her "do we have to bring these back?"
And just for the record the phone has only rang one time today so far...

Random Fact

So this was on Perez Hilton today....

"On Thursday, the US government will release a report that reveals that the late, great chef Julia Childs worked for the gov as a spy.
During World War II, 24,000 people served in an international spy ring managed by the Office of Strategic Services, an early version of the CIA created by President Franklin Roosevelt. They were soldiers, actors, historians, lawyers, athletes, professors, reporters. The recruits studied military plans, created propaganda, infiltrated enemy ranks and stirred resistance among foreign troops.
The government report will list the names of the 24,000 people who worked with the OSS and previously classified files relating to the program."
I love to read and retain useless facts and this is one I ran across years ago...I feel so informed, I already knew this!
Anytime she is mentioned in conversation I always work this story in, so there is a chance if you talk to me much I have already told you this! Who says useless facts are useless!?

So just saw this on Perez Hilton, I hope it comes to pass! I love Alice in Wonderland, the mad hatter is one of my favorite characters, and of course who doesn't love Johnny !?!?

Going Mad
from Celebrity gossip juicy celebrity rumors Hollywood gossip blog from Perez Hilton by Perez Hilton
Johnny Depp is known for playing quirky characters.
He's lent his skills to such notable parts as Edward Scissorhands, Willy Wonka, Capt. Jack Sparrow, Sweeney Todd, and a few others.
Well it seems Depp can add Mad Hatter to his resume pretty soon.
Tim Burton is working on remaking Lewis Carroll's classic fairy tale Alice in Wonderland into a 3-D film.
The flick would be released some time in 2010.
Plans are for the movie to be live action until Alice jumps down the rabbit hole and her adventure begins.
Alice will be played by Aussie actress Mia Wasikowska from HBO's In Treatment.
Neither Disney nor Depp have confirmed the reports, but we have a feeling he might do it.
Depp + Burton = BFF for life!

My weekend...

So starting Thursday and ending Sunday was an event known as Youth Fire Crusades in Branson. Our youth group has been attending for a long time. Here's a slight run down...On Thursday we had "Drama Night" at the church, it was pretty short and sweet. Friday was Silver Dollar City, our kids didn't get there until Friday night, but I went on Thursday, so on Friday I hung out with my BFF and his church. We left SDC around noon, because it was ridiculously HOT, but not before riding the Giant Swing twice...I heart it so much! That afternoon I went to the movies and saw Get Smart, it's a pretty good movie, the humors isn't that kind that just reaches out and grabs you, but there are subtle funny parts. That night we had a church service, it was really good! Actually all the services were really good! After church we went to The Track, where we decided to get pizza. They have this one they call the XXXL pizza and we decided it would be cool to get that, so we did!
Yea, it was huge! I'm not sure of the actual dimensions, but it was definitely the biggest pizza I have ever seen! When we ordered it the girl was like" Are you sure...it is like this big" stretching her arms out very wide as she says it. On Saturday we had a morning service then it was free time for the afternoon. I had to come back home to make an appearance at our family reunion. Then it was back for church again that night. Our kids left that night, but I stayed for the service Sunday morning, after I had lunch with a friend I hadn't seen in a long time, which ended up being lunch with her and another friend I hadn't seen in even longer, it was loverly! So in short that was my long weekend, a few details left out, but yea, that's pretty much it.
I tried to add pics, but it is giving me trouble, maybe I can get'em on here later!
